The story happened on a hot heavy rainy day.
After class, I took a few bottles to go and 36 some water from the water room. Oh! There were so many people! I had to wait 37 the rain. My hair didn't get wet because I wore a hat, but my clothes 38 .
When at last it was my 39 , I filled the bottles as quickly as possible. I began making my way back when I saw a boy 40 towards me. He 41 two umbrellas in his hand. He shouted hello and as he came 42 , I recognized that it was Tom.

On hearing this, I was so 50 that I couldn't say a single word.
"Don't just stand there. Let's go!" He said and held the umbrella for me. We walked towards 51 and this time we talked 52 .
"I know you don't like me, but I want to 53 with you." he said, "You may think I am silent, but it is because I can't find the right 54 to say."
The rain finally stopped and we saw a rainbow in the blue sky. I said to myself, "It is wrong to 55 someone only by his appearance.

Most people believe they don’t have much imagination. They are 11 . Everyone has imagination, but most of us, once we become adults, forget how to 12 it. Creativity isn’t always 13 with great works of art or ideas. People at work and in their free time 14 think of creative ways to solve problems. Maybe you have a goal to achieve, a tricky question to answer or you just want to expand your mind! Here are three techniques to help you.
Making connections. This technique involves taking 15 ideas and trying to find links between them. First, think about the problem you have to solve or the job you need to do. Then find an image, word, idea or object, for example, a candle. Write down all the ideas/words 16 with candles: light, fire, matches, wax, night, silence, etc. Think of as many as you can. The next stage is to relate the 17 to the job you have to do. So imagine you want to buy a friend an original 18 ; you could buy him tickets to match or take him out for the night.
NO limits! Imagine that normal limitations don’t 19 . You have as much time /space / money, etc. as you want. Think about your goal and the new 20 . If your goal is to learn to ski, 21 , you can now practise skiing every day of your life (because you have the time and the money). Now 22 this to reality. Maybe you can practise skiing every day in December, or every Monday in January.
Be someone else! Look at the situation from a 23 point of view. Good businessmen use this technique in trade, and so do writers. Fiction writers often imagine they are the 24 in their books. They ask questions: What does this character want? Why can’t she get it? What changes must she make to get what she wants? If your goal involves other people, put yourself in their 25 . The best fishermen think like fish!

Towards the end of the baseball game, a controversial call was given. At full speed Paul Harvey slid home(本垒)and, thinking he had just ___36___ a game-changing run, he stood up only to face the words, “You’re ___37___!”
Angry, he threw off his helmet and ran over to explain to the ___38___ why the call was wrong. Before his ___39___ really got out of control, someone pulled him away, and he walked to the bench---___40___.
Long after the coaches, players, and fans had gone home, he realized the impact of his ___41___. Like most of us do when we are faced with the __42___ of our actions, he could have just let it go, reasoning, “Everybody ___43___ it.”
However, in the silence of his heart, he knew that just ___44___ everyone else does it, that doesn’t make it all right. And so, long after his friends had gone home, he ___45___ that coach back up to the school—not to ___46___ his car. No, the boy tracked this man down so he could tell him face to face, “I’m sorry, Sir. It was all my___47___.”
It takes true courage to stand up to face the ___48___ we all make and say, “I was wrong. I’m sorry.” What makes this ___49___ unique is that it wasn’t meant for the world to ___50___, it was meant simply as a way to stay ___51___ to his own heart.
The truth is at one time or another we have all been this boy --- ___52___ out in anger, saying hurtful things, and feeling ___53___ for doing so. But the real test comes later when we are ___54___ with the choice to say “sorry” or to walk away thinking, “Ah, they’ll get over it.”
Maybe the “they” is a customer, a friend, or a child. Whoever it is, don’t pass up the opportunity to get right with your own heart. The time for apology is now! Courage is a ___55___ of the heart.

I'm glad you showed great interest in what is happening in China. You are right. I am very 21 of the great achievement that the Long March-2F carrier rocket successfully sent China's manned Shenzhou-9 spacecraft into space on June 16, 2012. Now, China is the third country in the world to use its own 22 to send a female into space.
I agree with you that if we work together and 23, the future will be ours, the two old civilizations will rejuvenate(焕发青春). The last thirty years has 24 great changes that have taken place in both India and China. We are lucky we are living in this great period.
You wanted to know more about Xi’an. Let me tell you: Xi’an is the biggest city in the 25 of China, with a population of over 9 million. Xi'an 26 the capital of China for over 13 dynasties. It was perhaps the most 27 and culturally advanced city in the entire world. 28 this place silk roads went westwards through Asia to Europe and Africa. Along one of the silk roads, over 1300 years ago, a great thinker called XuanZang 29 all the way from Xi'an to India with the 30 of getting true spirit of Buddha(佛). He succeeded after many 31 difficulties. After that, some new ideas from India spread over China, Japan and Korea. A 65-meter-high 32 called Dayan Pagoda was built for him for what he had done for the nation after he died, which 33 stands in the south of Xi'an, the most famous 34 of the city.
Xi'an is a city with splendid 35. A lot of historical interests attract millions of visitors from both China and all over the world, 36 which the Terra Cotta Warriors and the Old City Walls are the most well-known, whose details you can 37 find through the Internet.
Today's Xi'an is modern and even more beautiful, 38 to film-makers, IT experts, and business people of every description. Here in this city, famous for calligraphy(书法), a new chapter in China's history is being 39
I think you may have some idea of where I'm living. If you want to know more, come to China, I'll be your 40.
Tell me more about your city. Maybe my next long journey is India.
Hope to get your reply.

In the past, man did not have to think about the protection of his environment. There were few people on the earth, and natural 36 seemed to be unlimited.
Today things are 37 . The world has become too 38 . We are 39 our natural resources too quickly, and at the same time we are 40 our environment with dangerous chemicals. If we 41 to do this, human life on earth will not 42 .
People realize today that if too many 43 are taken from the sea, there will soon be none left. Yet, with modern fishing 44 , more and more fish are caught.
We know that if too many trees are cut down, 45 will disappear and nothing will 46 on the land. Yet, we continue to use bigger and more powerful machines to 47 more and more trees.
We realize that if rivers are polluted with waste products from factories, we will die. 48 , in most countries waste products are still put into rivers or into the sea, and there are few laws to 49 this.
We also know that if the 50 of the world continues to rise at the present rate, in a few years, there won't be enough food. What can we do to solve the 51 ? If we eat more vegetables and less 52 , there will be more food available for everyone. Land that is used to grow crops feeds five times more people than land where animals are kept.
Our natural resources will 53 longer if we learn to recycle them. The world population will not 54 so quickly if people use modern methods of birth control.
Finally, if we 55 people to think about the problems we shall have a better and cleaner planet in the future.

I was doing some last-minute Christmas shopping in a toy store. A nicely dressed little girl was 36 the teddy bears beside her father 37 she saw a little boy walk in and stop in front of the Pokémon toys. His jacket was obviously too small. He had money in his hand. 38 , it looked no more than five dollars at most. He was with his father as well, and 39 picking up the Pokémon video games. Each time he showed one to his father, his father 40 his head, “No”.
Rather 41 , the boy gave up the video games and chose a book of stickers 42 . After they walked away, the little girl ran over to the Pokémon video games. She excitedly picked up one 43 on top of the others, and ran toward the check-out. I picked up my purchases(购买物) and 44 the girl and her father.
Then, much to the little girl’s 45 , the little boy and his father got in line 46 her and me. After the video was paid for and bagged, the little girl 47 it back to the cashier(收银员) and 48 something to her. The cashier smiled and put the 49 under the counter(柜台). I was putting things in my bag when the little boy came up to the cashier. The cashier said, “ 50 , you’re my hundredth customer today, and you win a prize!” and she handed the boy the Pokémon game. The boy could only 51 in disbelief. It was, he said, 52 what he had wanted! The little girl and her father had been standing at the doorway, and I saw the biggest and 53 smile on that little girl I have ever seen in my life.
I suddenly understood that the world is not 54 into the strong who care and the 55 who are cared for. We must each in turn care and be cared.

Have you ever had to decide whether to go shopping or stay home and watch TV on a weekend? Now you 36 do both at the same time. Home shopping television networks have become a 37 for many people to shop without 38 having to leave their homes.
Some shoppers are 39 of department stores and supermarkets — 40
the crowds, waiting in long lines, and sometimes having slight 41 of finding anything they want to buy. They’d rather sit quietly at home in front of the TV set and 42 a friendly announcer describe a product 43 a model shows it. And they can 44 around the clock, buying something 45 by making a phone call.
Department stores and even mail-under companies are 46 to join in the success of home shopping. Large department stores are busy 47 their own TV channels to encourage TV shopping in the future. 48 can ask questions about products and place 49 , all through their TV sets.
Will shopping by television 50 take the place of shopping in stores? Some industry managers think so. 51 many people find shopping at a 52 store a great enjoyment. And for many shoppers, it is still important to 53 or try on dresses they want to buy. That’s 54 specialists say that in the future, home shopping will 55 together with store shopping but will never entirely replace it.

As educators, we often never know the influence we have on our students. It is always wonderful to have ___35___ students visit us and share the successes they have achieved. And those glorious moments, when we can instantly see the influence we have on a student, fuel us to continue making connections hoping to ___36___ in the life of every child.
As a music teacher for twenty-seven years, I have always known that music ___37___ the soul. It can ___38___ all kinds of barriers to reach students in a very special way. It can be the ___39___ for each child to find their light. I would like to share a story about it.
For a few years I was blessed with the opportunity to teach ___40___ students one afternoon a week. One of my most ___41___ students was a five-year-old girl called Vanessa, who had difficulty walking, and could not speak. We ___42___ sat on the floor for our music lessons and Vanessa liked to sit on my lap. One of her favorite songs was “John the Rabbit.” It was a call and response song where I sang the call and the students ___43___ twice while singing the repeating phrase, “Oh, yes!” Vanessa liked to ___44___ her hands together with mine and clap with me. We probably performed that song during every class, Vanessa and I clapping together. But she ___45___ said or sang a word.
One day late in the school year, when the song was finished, Vanessa turned around, looked me dead in the eye, clapped her tiny hands twice and said the words “Oh, yes!” I opened my mouth in ___46___ and for that moment I was the one who could not speak. When my heart ___47___ started beating again, I looked over at the assistant teacher to find her also ___48___. Through music, we had made an awesome connection.
Several years later, I passed Vanessa on the street in town. I stopped my car and waved to say hello. She waved back with a big ___49___ on her face and then clapped her hands twice, imitating the song we had ___50___ so many times in our music class. This precious little girl, ___51___ her connection with music, left an impression on me that will last forever. Every child has the ___52___ to learn and grow. It is up to us as educators to ___53___ the way to reach each and every one of our students. We all must find each child’s ___54___.

Ever since I was little I loved doing things for other people. As I got older I began doing random ( 随意的 ) things for people. For example, during holidays, such as Christmas, I would make an extra 21 along with the ones for my relatives. Then I would go and find someone in the grocery store and just hand it to them and walk away. It was so much fun. I admit, 22 , the first time I did it I was so 23 . I didn’t know who to give the card to. So I said a little prayer and knew that the 24 person would just appear. About that time an elderly man ran 25 me with his shopping cart. It was an accident, and he 26 a million times. We smiled and he walked away, and I knew that he was the one. Later I found him in a different isle(过道), handed him the card, and smiled. I said Happy Holidays, and then walked away. It was so great, and the 27 I had afterwards was unexplainable.
Then one day I came across your website (the coolest website ever) and 28 some Smile Cards. When they came in, I started a new project. When I go into a store, I locate a person who I think needs a 29 . Then, I buy a flower, a carnation, to be exact, and 30 it in the most beautiful paper they have. I tie lots of ribbons on it to make it 31 , and then slip the smile card into an envelope and 32 it to the flower. After that, I pay for it and explain to the cashier 33 it is to go to (I live in a pretty small town so it’s easy to get the help of the cashiers). They then give it to that person when they come through.. Once in a while I’ll buy the flower and then just leave it for the cashier. That gets smiles.
My favorite time was when I picked out this elderly woman who was walking around the 34 somewhat confused. I had come across her numerous times and she only smiled slightly once. When she came to the check out (I was watching from outside) her face 35 and the smile was the biggest I had ever seen. Later that week the cashier whom I had had 36 me told me that the lady had been so surprised and while she was walking out with the grocery bag to her car, she was planning what she was going to do for someone else. It was awesome.
I absolutely love the random acts of kindness cards. I 37 at least two in my purse and others in my car, locker and everywhere I go. As I mentioned, my club, STARS, is doing a Random Acts of Kindness Project with the smile cards so they also are using them. I look forward to hearing about their success. It’s really great. I 38 used them in school. I bought my entire math class cans of pop after lunch one day. They came in from lunch and a can of pop and a smile card were setting 39 that day. It totally lightened the mood in the class that day 40 we were studying for a test. Thank you for all of the help that you provide. The smile cards are a great program that brings smiles into the lives of many!

I recently overheard something that surprised me. I heard that people who win the lottery (彩票) are__21_for about 3 weeks. And then they go back to their__22__state of being before they won the money.I__23__that they would have been happy for a much longer time.
The reason for this is that__24__we try to change how we feel by using something outside of ourselves, like winning the lottery,or getting a new car or house,it never__25__.The resulting feelings of happiness are often fleeting (飞逝的).We cannot__26__them for very long.In some way,it may be a good thing. It reminds us that happiness really does come from within and is__27__to us at any moment.True happiness has__28__to do with what is happening outside;it is an inside job.Happiness is a__29__.
We can make the decision to be happy for one day, when we__30__in the morning, every morning. We can find something that brings us great __31__,like sitting outside in the garden under an old tree and__32__the birds sing,or watching the dog or cat play, and just__33__the moment. It is our__34__state and we need only allow it in.At any moment,we can__35__,take a deep breath, and remember who we really are,and why we came here, and that truly is to__36__joy and the aliveness of being.
“Happiness is like a butterfly which, when run after,is always __37__our reach, but,if you will sit down___38__,may fall upon you,” said Nathaniel Hawthorne,an American novelist. So,today,no matter what is going on in your own__39__,stop and take a few moments to breathe deeply and just__40__to be happy, whatever that means to you.
