Personally I think trains are exciting and romantic. I must        that trains are not important means of transportation in the US, but I do have some       with them.
When I was a child, growing up in a small town with very little      , we used to go to the station to watch the passenger trains coming in. There was something           about the steaming, roaring string of cars coming into view around the mountains, slowly growing larger and        and finally     crowds of strangers onto the platform.
I took my        train trip when I was ten years old. I went with my elder sister to visit our cousins six hundred miles away. The train—so loud and violent on the outside—was        and rocking inside. We were very excited, and as that was also our first time away from our parents, we felt somewhat frightened too. However, because I had         so much, I was a little disappointed when I was finally one of the passengers I had        for so long.
As a college student, I       ride overnight train to my roommate’s hometown. We could never afford a       , so we played cards, sang, ate, read and talked       we finally fell uncomfortably asleep in the straight-backed seats.
My idea that trains are        may come from the fact that my husband and I took the train on our honeymoon, spending extra money to eat in the dining car, and        the window as the desert scenery slid past.
Now, when I make a trip, I always fly or drive, and       are not a very important part of my life.       , every time I hear the train whistle faraway on a quiet night, I can always feel the        in my heart to pack my bags and jump on board, entering a        world of motions, sounds, sights, and experience which just aren’t         in the dull environment of an airplane.

The pairing of young boys and girls set the mood of the Valentine's Day Festival as we know today. But it was       due to the efforts and daring of a priest St Valentine that the festival got its        and clearer meaning. The story goes that Emperor Claudius II of Rome found it       to get soldiers and felt the reason why men did not join the       was that they did not wish to leave their wives and families. In fact, in some places there were deep gaps(缺口) where whole pieces were missing.
The young man laughed. “       your heart with mine, anyone with his eyes can see mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars.”
“Yes,” said the old man, “Yours looks perfect but I         never trade with you. You see, every         represents a person          I have given my love. I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they _      me a piece of their heart that fits into the _        place in my heart. But because the pieces aren’t exact, I have some rough edges, which I treasure, because they remind me of the love we         .
“Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart         , and the other person hasn’t returned a  _        of his or her heart to me. These are the empty gaps—giving love is        a chance. Although these gaps are painful, they           open, reminding me of the love I have for those people too, and I hope someday they may return where I have been waiting and fill the space. So now do you see what true beauty is?’’
Tears running his cheeks, the young man walked up to the old man,           his own perfect heart, and tore out a piece. He           it to the old man with trembling hands.
The old man placed it in his heart, then took a piece from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man’s heart. It         , but not perfectly, as there were some rough edges.
The young man looked at his heart, not perfect any more but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old man’s heart flowed into his.
They hugged and walked away side by side.

Laziness is a state of inaction. It is something that you do, not something that you are. Being lazy means you have no          to do anything. This is obvious but the mistake that many people make is           themselves as someone who is lazy.
Lazy people are often seen as useless.       , are they really being lazy or are they acting lazy? There is a huge difference between saying you are lazy sometimes and you are a lazy person. One is suggesting that your laziness is        while the other suggests that it’s permanent. This is the myth of laziness. People who are lazy aren’t lazy; they       are people who are temporarily acting that way.
So what causes a person to be inactive? The answer is a lack of goals. If you give someone a good enough      to do something, he will do it. People who don’t seem to do anything just haven’t found a good enough reason to do something. Lazy students don’t study because they don’t see the         in studying. For example, if you are too lazy to clean out the garage, would someone         a gun to your head help you take action? The reason can be positive or negative      it’s strong enough to induce(引起) action.
To motivate someone who is lazy, what you need to do is to help him find enough      to work towards a certain goal.
