In just a few hours, we knew we'd be good friends for the rest of the       .
I left France with many     , so when people ask me what my favorite part of the trip was, they are always      to hear me talk about my Brazilian friend Paolo and the scores of weekdays in class, weeknights on the town, and weekends             France we enjoyed together. I love how people       seem so different, but end up being so        . The most valuable lesson I gained from studying in France wasn't just to respect the foreign people       to respect all people, for your next best friend could be just a continent away. I would recommend an exchange program to anyone who wants to experience foreign cultures and gain meaningful      .

After I reread my owner manual(用户手册), I         the check engine light comes on to indicate that there is a problem and that            is required.  Malfunctions(故障)will often be indicated by the        before any problem appears, which may           more serious damage to the vehicle. God makes a magnificent “check engine light”. He gives you an awareness to keep your pathway           . He shows you the beauty of the earth to         you to him. He brings people who care about you to help        your living. He has provided his word to point the          . Whenever we do something wrong, Jesus Christ sees it. He loves us and doesn’t say it. Perhaps he’s wondering how long we’ll keep our mind suffering. A little boy named Johnny was visiting his grandparents on their farm and he was given a slingshot(弹弓) to play with out in the woods. He       for some time but he could never hit the target he had set for himself. Getting a little       , he walked back to the farmhouse for dinner. As he was _      back, he saw Grandpa’s pet duck. Just out of      , he let the slingshot fly , hitting it in the head ,and killed it. In a panic, he        the dead duck in the woodpile, only to see his sister Sally       be watching him. Sally had seen all this, but she said _ _ . After lunch that day Grandma said, “Sally, it’s your turn to wash the dishes.” But Sally said, “Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen.” And then she spoke _   to him, “Remember the duck?” So Johnny did the dishes. Later that day, Grandpa asked if       wanted to go fishing, but Grandma said, “I’m sorry but I need Sally to help me make supper.” But Sally just smiled and said, “Well, that’s all right because Johnny told me he was too      to help you. And she whispered again, “Remember the duck?” So Sally went fishing and Johnny          to help make supper. After several days of doing both his      and Sally’s, Johnny finally couldn’t      it any longer. He came to his Grandma and told her that he had killed the duck .Grandma smiled and gave him a big __  . “Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was watering the flowers at the window       I saw you shoot my duck with the slingshot, and I saw the whole thing. But because I love you, I    you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally   _ of you.”
In reality, no matter how   __ or how uncomfortable it is to admit our wrongdoing, we should always choose to     it and work it through instead of running away from it. Hard as it is, it       us and makes us who we are.

My dad and I used to enjoy the sunset together on that very       . We would also watch the waves crash into the        below. My mother would always annoy us how         it was. I was never worried,________ I always felt safe next to my father, who spent most of his life out        in his boat.
I remember one time on his boat;I had        off the back and into the cold water accidentally. My dad immediately jumped off to        me. I would never forget that day, and from that point I knew        would prevent my dad protecting me if I was in danger.
As I        there on top of the cliff, I remembered the times I spent with my dad. I looked down sorrowfully at the urn (骨灰瓮)        . My father was my rock, someone I could        when I needed him most. But now he was gone, and I felt sorrowful and       .
It had always been my father’s last        to have his ashes scattered out at sea. I          the urn, said a        farewell (告别) and then slowly twisted off the lid. The wind started to change      , blowing out towards the sea. I looked last time down at my father’s ashes and then        for a moment, I scattered the contents out over the cliff.
I wiped away a tear, but it was perfect happiness rather than sadness, because I finally knew the man who        so much to me, my father, was finally at peace.

I sat in the chair reflecting on the past year. At that time, my        Charley came into the room. Charley took one look at my face and she could         I was off in another world. When I         on the year, I’ve realized I have had such good fortune, with a few bumps (碰撞) along the way.”
Charley immediately asked, “Tell me about the three things that         you the most during this year.”
I sat thinking if I had to        only three things that influenced me, what would they be? After a few minutes, I said, “OK, here are the three things that influenced me the most: My family. Throughout the year I had many         , but my family were always there        support and encouragement. My friends. Over the years I have         my dreams and my goals with my friends. Charley smiled and said, “Do you realize that everything you have said has one thing in        ?”
“What are you saying, Charley?” I asked.
She replied, “Neither the material things in your life, nor your job has had the most meaning in your life. It is the people in your life that have made the biggest        in your life!”
I smiled. Material things are not        , and while our jobs provide the means of existence for us, the important things in life are the people who touched our lives.
