The first time I saw Suzy Khan, I knew I had to help her. She was really small for her age of 12. The boys in my class often laughed at her. She would open a , pretending to read, with tears dropping on the open page.
All I knew was that she was an orphan (孤儿) from Africa. She had just been adopted (收养 ) by a family, and they thought that the best way for her to American ways of life is to be with American kids. I looked at this small girl and promised myself that I must help her.
But how could I help her fit in with us? There had to be a way.
One day, when I went into the classroom, I saw that Suzy had opened her geography book to a picture of a train, and in her notebook, she had made a perfect .
I was surprised and thought that she could do in the coming talent show. So, I took her to see the art teacher, Miss Parker, and showed her what Suzy had drawn. “Why, it’s ,” said Miss Parker, and then showed us a poster she had painted for the talent show. “I need more of these, but I just don’t have enough time. Could you help me, Suzy?
On the day of the talent show, Suzy’s were everywhere ---- all over the hall and all over the school, each one different.
“And ,” said Mr. Brown, the schoolmaster, at the end of the show, “We have a special award. I’m sure you’ve all noticed the wonderful posters.” Everyone nodded. “One of our own students painted them.”
I could hear everyone whispering. “Who in our school could that well?”
Mr. Brown waited a while before saying, “Since this student worked so hard on the posters, she deserves a prize, too. Our mystery (神秘) artist is our new student ---- Suzy Khan!”
Mr. Brown thanked her for all the wonderful posters and gave her a professional artist’s set. “Thank you,” she cried.
I realized, at that time when I was looking at her face, she’d probably never owned anything in her whole life.
Everyone started to clap their hands. Suzy Khan gave them a shy smile. I knew then Suzy was going to be all right. ”

Homesickness can be a terrible feeling for anyone who travels away from their home town, country or simply away from the house they live in for a period of time. It is a strong feeling of wanting to go back to your own places very much. Some people get homesick easily while never experience it at all.
Different people deal with homesickness in different ways. Some ring home and have a chat with the people who they think ‘home’ – often their mum or dad. This may be a good idea for you to feel that you are not . It reminds you that home and the people you love are still there and that you will see them soon. However, it can make the homesickness even . By talking to people from home, it can make you miss them more! It can make you want to be home even more and make you realise you miss your loved ones. For this very reason, some people find better not to contact home but to let the feeling pass by doing fun activities. This can not only work as a good way to lonely feelings that homesickness can cause, but can also work well towards helping you get used to the place which you are living or staying in. Reminding yourself that where you are can make you see the bigger picture; that home is great, but where I am right now is also great different reasons!
In German there is a(n) which is quite opposite to homesickness and that is ‘Fernweh’. This means the feeling of wanting to get away and see new places.

Think of life as a game in which you are playing with five balls in the air. You name them work, family, health, friends and spirit and you keep all of them in the air. You will soon understand that is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce(弹跳)back.
But the other four balls, family, health, friends and spirit, are made of . If you drop one of these, they will be broken. They will be the same. You must understand that and try to have balance in your life. How?
Don't look down on your by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different and each of us is special.
Don't let other people set for you. Only you know what is best for yourself.
Don't give up when you still have something to give. is really over until the moment you stop trying.
Don't be afraid of difficulties. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be .
Don't love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give it; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly; the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
Don't run through life so fast that you forget not only you've been, but also where you are going.
Don't be afraid to learn. Knowledge is a treasure you can always carry easily.
Don't use time or words .You can't get them back. Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift; that's why we call it "the present" Life is not a competition, but a trip, step by step.

We wish that we could be better at sports or more attractive. We wish we had nicer clothes or more money. Everyone likes to feel that he or she is special. , many of us grow up believing that we’re not special at all. We believe we are not good enough just as we are.
Most parents want us to be the best we can be. Very often, they compare (比较)us to __ _. By doing this, they try to encourage us to do better. They well, but the message we often get is that we’re not good enough. We begin to believe that the only way we can be special is being better than someone else, but we are often disappointed(失望) . There will always be someone out there who is better than we are at . Plenty of people around may not be as smart as we are, but they are better at sports. Or they may not be as good-looking, but they have more money. It is for us to be better than everyone else all the time.
We all want the things that we believe will make us better people. But very often we don’t realize that we already have us the very things that we want. These things make us others. When we are growing up, sometimes forget to tell us that we are special, that we are good enough. Maybe no one told them when they were growing up. , it’s up to us to remind them from time to time that each of us, in our own way, is special. What we are is enough.
