But there's another side: the freedom of summer can cause the "summer drop,"where kids forget some of the reading, writing and math skills (3) . Many students go down in reading levels during the summer. Math skills are also easily forgettable for kids during the two months of school break. A lot of teachers spend weeks playing catch﹣up in the fall to make up for the summer drop. To avoid this drop in learning,(4) .
Traveling can be a fantastic way for parents to encourage continued learning during the summertime. Whether taking the kids on a road trip to visit family, or getting on a flight to travel in a different province or country, the learning possibilities are endless. If you and your family have a road trip or vacation planned this summer,(5) .With a little planning, parents can create learning opportunities that are so fun. The kids won't even realize you are putting education into their free time quietly and secretly.

Your body is special﹣no two people in the world are the same.Although you are different from everyone else, you have exactly the same body parts as the people around you, doing different jobs that keep all of us alive.
What is inside my head ?
Your head holds the most valuable part of your body in it﹣your brain. As you are reading, your eyes send pictures to your brain which makes meaning from what you see.Your brain heIps you to remember and think, and makes sure your body is doing what it should do.
What is my skin for ?
Your skin covers your body.In most parts of your body, the skin is just as thick as 0.5cm.If you cut your skin,it will have a quick cure(治愈)and stop viruses(病毒)from getting into your body.Your skin also helps you feel the heat and coldness of the environment around you.Hair grows from inside the skin. When you feel hot, extra heat comes out through your skin.As a result, your body temperature drops.
How do I move ?
Muscles(肌肉) are found in most parts of your body. They work with your bones to help you move﹣ whenever you cry or smile, eat or speak, walk or dance, etc.
What does my heart do ?
Your heart is a very special muscle. It is a little bigger than your fist(拳头)and grows bigger as you do. If you place your hand on your heart, you will feel your heart beating which pushes blood to move around your body.

Hong Guang,an 18﹣year﹣old girl from Beijing, spent her first night on a cold floor to start her life in Britain.
Each year, thousands of Chinese middle school students go to study in foreign countries such as the U.S.,the U.K.and Australia.According to a recent study done in Shanghai, nearly half of the students interviewed would like to study abroad.
"Chinese children are eager to go abroad to get a wider view, less academic学业的competition or even family honor,"said Chen Yi,who has lived in the U.S.for 16years."But life in a foreign countries can be hard for young people.Because they have to face culture shock and language problems."
However, these are not always the most difficult things. To most children controlling themselves when studying alone in a foreign country is a big challenge.Zhang Jia,a 16﹣year﹣old student, entered a high school in Australia last October. To his surprise, his teachers there seldom pushed students to study, and usually there wasn't much homework.
"In this education system we have more free time and space for thinking,"said Zhang."But if you don't know how to manage your time and money, you will not have an easy life."
Some students spent their whole year's money in the first two months and did not pass their exams.
"Studying abroad at an early age can help students learn foreign languages and broaden their minds, but students and parents should know about the challenges."Chen said.
"If you want to study abroad, try to talk to someone with overseas experience.Make sure that you are prepared both mentally精神上 and financially 经济上."

Once there were many thousands of Gourma Desert (沙漠) elephants in Mali, a country in West Africa. Now. there are fewer than four hundred.

Luckily. the voice of MEP was heard.
