An 11﹣year﹣old boy Frank loved to read ghost stories. Every time he paid a visit to the library and got back a horror story. And he liked playing scary tricks on his friends.

One day, Frank's friend Pavan asked him to come over to his house after school. Frank played there until very late. He walked along the road in the quiet wood. How dark it was!

"Daddy? Ifs you? You mean the voice came from you? But why?" asked Frank.

Some people seem to have unusual memories. Zheng Aiqiang, a "memory athlete" on TV show Super Brain, can remember 2, 660 numbers in just one hour!

You would think people like him must have special brains. But according to a recent study by researchers from America and Holland, the brain structure (结构) of ordinary people and 23 of the world's lending memory athletes shows no difference.

Good memories can be trained. New research in the magazine Neuron suggests that a person will get a super memory with just six weeks of hard training.

Researchers found that a technique (技巧) called loci, invented by the ancient Greeks, can greatly help improve memory.

By using loci, you are using your imagination to improve the brain's memory networks. You can link (关联) something you need to remember with a place that you know very well. For example, to remember a list of numbers, imagine yourself walking through your house. Each thing is linked to a number. For example, zero could be the handle on the door and five could be the painting on the wall.

In one study, some ordinary people were given 20 minutes to remember 72 nouns. At the beginning, they could only remember 26 words, but when they were taught loci, they could remember 62 words.

"Not everyone can become a memory winner. But everyone using the technique can improve his memory greatly" said Boris Konrad, one of the researchers in the study.

Dmitry Doronin,a doctoral student from Russia,is keen (热衷的)to share his experience in rural villages in Zhejiang with his 1.4 million followers online.

Since Dmitry started to live in the countryside last August, the 32 ﹣year﹣old has created hundreds of video clips that record the relaxing lifestyle in Hengzhang village,Lishui city."The rice is grown in the fields together with fish, which helps to increase local agricultural (农业的)products," said Dmitry, while introducing products from Hengzhang village on the popular Chinese short﹣videos platform Douyin,Besides filming videos,Dmitry also enjoys working with farmers in the fields, doing activities   such as planting vegetables and feeding chickens.

Living in a village provides him with uniqueexperiences,he says, quite different from busy life in big cities, such as Shanghai, where he studies. And he has been a pleasant surprise to the villagers as well.Villager Bao Mingyue,76,says,"To our surprise, the young Russian not only knows how to cook Chinese food but is interested in working in the fields."

Because of the outbreak of COVID﹣19,the sales of local agricultural products had dropped rapidly,so Dmitry volunteered to help sell the products in his videos. In a few months,10,000 kilograms of oranges,4,000 kilograms of dried sweet potatoes and 300 kilograms of honey had been sold.

"Thanks to his videos,it seems that more tourists have come to visit our village,"says 72﹣year﹣ old Pan Xianyu, who is very pleased to see the great changes in her hometown,Dmitry loves his country life,"In the countryside, you can immerse (沉浸)yourself in the traditional way of life and understand this country better," he says.
