Considering how much time people spend in effects, it is important that with A be well designed. Well-designed office spaces help create a corporation's image. They motivate workers and they make an impression on people who visit and might be potential, or1, customers. They make business work better, and they are a part of the corporate culture to live in.
As we move away from an industrial-based economy to a knowledge-based one, office designers come up with2to the traditional work environments of the past. The design industry has moved away from a fixed office setup and created more flexible "strategic management environments." These3solutions are meant to support better organizational performance.
As employee hierarchies (等级制度)have flattened or decreased, office designers' response to this change has been to move open-plan areas to more desirable locations within the office and create fewer formal private offices. The need for increased flexibility has also been4by changes in workstation design. Office and work spaces often are not5to a given person on a permanent basis. Because of changes to methods of working, new design allow for expansion or movement of desks, storage, and equipment within the workplace. Another important design goal is communication, which designers have improved by breaking the walls that6workstations. Designers have also created informal gathering places and upgraded employees'7to heavily trafficked areas such as copy and coffee rooms.
Corporate and institutional office designers often struggle to resolve a number of competing and often8demands, including budgetary limits, employees hierarchies and technological innovation (especially in relation to computerization). These demands must also be balanced with the need to create interiors (内饰) that in some way enhance, establish or possess a company's image and will enable employees to9and their best.

When I was a little boy, I would play outside for hours on sunny summer days and then have a deep and peaceful sleep at night. Sometimes, I’d have some vivid dreams, making me for a moment. I would stare out into the darkness to see if anything was there and then over and go back to sleep. I can still remember a few times when I woke up, out into the darkness, and actually someone there. It was Mom over me as I slept. Each time she told me to go back to sleep and I closed my eyes again, feeling and loved.
I asked Mom why she watched me sleep from time to time, but seeing my own children so fast, I think I know why. She wanted to catch a moment in time and it in her heart forever. I just that she carried a lot of those moments with her into Heaven when she at only 55.
Last night I was sleeping lightly I suddenly felt someone near me. I opened my eyes and saw Mom’s standing in the room, smiling at me. And then she was gone.
Now may say that this was just a dream, a wish or part of an old . To me, though, it was that Mom’s loving spirit was still watching over me. To me, it was evidence enough to know that one day I would be with her and everyone I have ever loved.
Trust in their love. Know that your own life can be full of , too. Then joyfully go out and live it with a brave heart and a smiling soul.

One Bite at a Time
Stephen was on campus(校园)to register when I first met him.
One summer day I was headed over to the administration building, I heard someone call my name. I around and saw Philip, one of my colleagues standing with another young man. As Philip introduced me to the young man, named Stephen, he reminded him that he would be taking one of my , Introduction to Literature. With a somewhat expression, Stephen asked if my class was going to be “hard”. Would he be able to pass? I he was concerned about failing before the day of classes. We talked about what the class would and I saw Stephen’s eyes getting big with .
Then I remembered a bit of classical dialog:
Question: “How do you eat an elephant?”
Answer: “One bite at a time.”
I told him to his work that way. To do his assignment(作业), all of them, and to get them in on time. I added that most students I knew made a timetable of all the assignment so they could their workload.
As time went on, I learned more of Stephen’s story. He had in middle school. It had taken him longer to finish than most young people. Family members, including his mother, kept reminding him that he was a . Now, in the face of their negative-saying he had been admitted into college. He told me that before coming to our campus no one had believed he had much .
Stephen didn’t become an “A” student. He didn’t make any honor rolls. Still, he managed to most of his courses by being in class every day, turning in all of his assignment on time and breaking down his studying into digestible parts. By passing course after course he began to gain a measure of self-respect. He was a great singer and he was the school’s cross-country team.
Every time I saw him on campus, he would brighten up and say, “One bite at a time.” Whenever he introduced me to his friends, he would tell them that he was when he was supposed to be failing. His , he said, was that he was what I taught him before classes ever started: “Take it one bite at a time.”

For most, getting your first car opens up a new world of freedom and allows you to go wherever you want, whenever you want. Getting a car did this for me, and it also brought my best friend and me . But then it tore us apart.
My best friend lives three minutes from my . Since her is in late summer, seven months behind mine, I basically became her when I turned 16 in December.
And so I her up for school and took her home. We made ice-cream , went shopping and to the movies ---- all in my car. I would drive to her house just to sit on her bed, read magazines and have a good laugh. I went to her house so that she gave me a to her house.
A week after I got my license, she was with me I had my first accident. She was there and me and we kept it a , since I didn’t want people to . From then on, through thick and thin, it was just me, my car and my best friend.
High school is a time of , but I couldn’t for a long time we became so distant(疏远) after being so close. My friend waited three months after her birthday to get her dream car:a green 2004 Beetle. With its , the passenger seat of my car became . Our car trips became less frequent I didn’t even drive down her street.
It’s funny how a car can change a relationship so much. I had wanted her to g a car, but once she did, I 60 it. I wanted her friendship back, even if it couldn’t be the same.
