Reading English newspapers are my favorite activity. When I entered into high school, I began to enjoy doing such work. Under the teacher’s help, I realize that reading English articles is of great important. It’s a good way to improve my English. I’ve learned many new words and expression by doing so. I also get much information, included news about China and the world outside. It opened my eyes widely. That I love most is the section about TV programs in the coming week. I dislike reading long articles there are many new words. I will work hard to keep on even it’s a particularly hard task for me.

In a summer night in Taiwan, Xiao Hong was going on her way to school happily then suddenly she felt the street was strong shaking. The trees were torn up and many buildings were leaned down to the ground. Even a car was destroyed by the fallen buildings. She was knocked down by a tree before she knew. Two doctors carried him to safety and she was settled down in a tent for treatment. After some time, she had got over. Seeing such many goods from the mainland of China and other countries, she believed all the destroyed houses would be built.

I like riding my bike．Though it is not very new, but it is my best friend．I find
very convenient to go anywhere with a bike．Riding gives me not only exercises but
also pleasure．I use my bike almost in summer when the weather is warm and dry．It
can be very pleasant in winter when it is cold and rain is pour down．It can also be
very dangerous．Of course I will be very carefully on my bike．In fact, accidents are
not the only problem．Once I went to bookstore on my mother’s bike to buy some
books and come out to find the bike missing．Now I have two strong lock．

Last weekend I went to the Summer Palace as usually． At about noon, I was enjoying my reading near a lake while suddenly I hear someone crying for help． I went up to see what was happening． I was shocking to find a little child struggling in the water in the distance while many peoples were standing by without doing anything． Without any hesitation, I had pushed through the crowd as I took off my coat, but jumped into the water quickly． I managed to reach him and carried him back to safety． To his great relief, the kid was saved．  
I was proud what I had done． I hope everyone can give hand when someone else is in need．

During this summer vacation，I went to the country to _________

Helen was a twenty-years-old girl. She has never had a job before. Now she wanted to get a work. So she went to meet Mr. Black, the manager of hotel. Jim and Mary were both patiences in a Mental Hospital. One day because they were walking by the hospital swimming pool, Jim suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank to the bottom. Mary promptly, jumped in save him. She swam to the bottom and pulled Jim out.
When the medical director became aware at Mary heroic act he immediately reviewed her file and called her into his office. “Mary, I have a good news and bad news. The good news is you’re being discharged because since you were able to jump in and save the life of other patient, I think you’ve regained your senses. The bad news is Jim, the patient you saved him, hung himself with his bathrobe belt in the bathroom, he is died.”
Mary replied, “He didn’t hang himself, I hang him up to dry.”

I believe that everyone in the world loves their mother. So am I. My mother is  a  ordinary  teacher.  She works  hard at  school,  just as other mothers do every day. In fact, she isn’t good health. She have been suffering from arthritis(关节炎) for  many years. In spite of this, she never stops working or giving up hope. I still remember the day and when my mother received a card of congratulations for Teacher’s Day from her director. The card was read “Thank you for your hard works; Happy Teacher’s Day to you!” At that moment, I was so moving that tears came to my eyes. I am proud of my mother because she is my best teacher as good as my mother.
