After the earthquake his northeast Japan on March 11, 2011, many touching stories that I saw with my own eyes happened around me.
I had to walk home since all the   31  had stopped after the quake. On my way home I   32  an old Japanese lady at the bakery shop who was giving out free bread, which made my heart  33  . My friend wanted to  36  others. He stood in the cold with a sign “If you are okay with a motorcycle, I will   37   you to your house.” And then I saw him take one gentleman home, all the way to faraway place!
Then the next day I drove to  38  my car with gas. There was a  39  gas now and many gasoline stations were either closed or had very  40  lines. I got  41  ,since I was behind 15  cars. Finally, when it was my  42  , the man smiled and said, “  43   this aituation, we are only giving $ 30 worth gas per person. Is that alright?”“Of course, I’m just glad that we are all able to  44   ,” I said. His smile gave me so much  45  .
I saw a man at the evacuation(疏散) center  46  when people brought food to him, It was the first time in three days that food has been brought to their center. However, after he wiped the tears, his next  47  surprised me. “I am very  48   that we are provided with food. But people in the city next to us haven’t   49   any food at all. Please go to that centre as well.” And when hearing that, I realized there is a bright future on the other side of this  50  .

He met her at a party. She was outstanding; many guys were   36   her, but nobody paid any attention to him. After the party, he invited her for coffee. She was surprised. In order not to appear   37  , she went along.
As they sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too   38   to say anything and she felt uncomfortable. Suddenly, he asked the waiter, "Could you please give me some   39  ? I'd like to put it in my coffee."
They stared at him. He turned   40  , but when the salt came, he put it in his coffee and drank.   41  , she asked, "Why salt with coffee?" He explained, "When I was a little boy, I lived near the sea. I liked playing on the sea ... I could feel its taste salty, like salty coffee. Now  42   I drink it, I think of my childhood and my hometown. I   43   it and my parents, who are still there."
She was deeply touched. A man who can admit that he's homesick must love his home and   44   his family. He must be responsible.
She talked too, about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was the start to their love story.
They continued to   45  . She found that he met all her   46  . He was tolerant, kind, warm and careful. She would have missed the catch if not for the salty coffee!
So they   47   and lived happily together. And every time she made   48   for him, she put in some salt, the way he liked it.
After 40 years, he passed away and left her a letter which said:
My dearest, please   49   my life-long lie. Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous I asked for salt instead of   50  .
It was hard for me to ask for a   51  , so I just went ahead. Many times, I tried to tell you the truth, but I was afraid that it would   52   everything.
Sweetheart, I don't exactly like salty coffee. But as it   53   so much to you, I've learnt to enjoy it. Having you   54   me was my greatest happiness. If I could live a second time, I hope we can be together again,   55   it means that I have to drink salty coffee for the rest of my life.

It was a cold winter’s night when I stopped for gas on my way home from work. I was tired and had a slight   36  .
I worked in a   37   doctor’s office and this was one of those days when the unexpected happened, making the schedule run   38   than usual. It seemed I was going to be late   39   home and my husband, being the   40   person, would be ready to pronounce me late once again. Maybe   41   I hurried, I could still make it home.
I was heading inside to   42   for my gas when I noticed an older couple at the counter. I heard them asking for   43   to the local hospital. It was the same hospital that I had just   44  a few minutes ago.

“I’m going right by there,” I said, which wasn’t a(an)   50   since I had just made up my mind to do   51   that.
I got in my car and began the journey back. I was trying to watch to be sure they were right   52   me. It took only fifteen minutes to get there as rush hour traffic was beginning to   53  . I felt better than I had all day and my headache was nearly gone.

I said, “Sometimes it’s   55   to be late.”

On the first day of the sixth grade, I noticed one little girl called Amy on the school bus. “ Don’t  16  her,” warned Lauren, who sat beside me. “or they will make fun of you.”
Amy had many  17  differences - lots of reasons for other kids to make fun of her. Her eyes weren’t straight. Her glasses were an inch thick. And she had really uneven teeth.
Every day  18  we drove to and from school, kids would shout insults(侮辱) at Amy. “God,what a strange face! Stop  19  me!”“Mr. Rolland (the driver)! Amy took off her glasses, and now her eyes are frightening me.  20  her put them back on!” For a while I shouted my  21  of insults, just so I’d fit in.  22 , I didn’t want them to treat me the same way they treated Amy.
But while I was insulting her, my heart  23  for the girl. I could see that the insults were making her look uglier, because she was so  24  and alone. Then I wanted to  25  her. I just didn’t know how to stop my schoolmates - 26  the night of our class roller-skating party.
Our whole class was there,  27  Amy. Amy didn’t know how to skate, but I could see how much she wanted to have  28  like the rest of us. So I skated over to her and took her by the hand.  29  we began the journey together around the skating rink. She just smiled, and every once in a while she would laugh in excitement.
