In our daily life, much plastic package is used just once and then thrown away. According to a new study from the University of California, 9% of this is recycled, 12% is burnt and 79% goes to landfill. And because most plastic doesn't biodegrade, once it's in the ground, it stays there. (1)The study also shows that eight million tons of plastic waste are pouring into the sea every year.
Scientists have calculated the total amount of plastic ever made: 8.3 billion tons. That's as heavy as one billion elephants. And almost all of it has been made in the last 65 years.
(2)每个人都应该参与拯救地球. Protecting the environment is protecting ourselves. If the environment is taken good care of, we can have clean water and green mountains. (3)绿水青山或是金山银山.
What can we do as students? Just say no to single﹣use plastics like straws, cups and bags. Many people love to drink from a straw or use plastic to carry things, but they are really bad for the environment.
(4)Bring your own chopsticks if you're planning to eat outside. It can be hard to remember.
Just put a pair of chopsticks in your bag before you leave home.
You know you're going to need some water to get you through your day. So carry a bottle(or a cup) with you. (5)That will help you avoid plastic bottles.

People have been trying to find out if homework is good or bad for school children, and they have different opinions.
(1)Some people think that homework is an important part of learning for students. They believe it not only enables children to practice what they have learned in class, but also helps improve their handwriting. They also say that homework helps teach children how to work on their own. (2)Also,it's a skill which is useful to them in future life.
Others disagree, though. (3)他们认为家庭作业给孩子们太多的压力. And the time spent on homework could have been used to do other activities like reading and playing sports. To back up their opinion, they give the example of Finland(芬兰). (4)在芬兰,学生几乎没什么作业.But the country remains one of the most educationally successful countries in the world.
Here is my point of view(观点) on this matter. (5)Whether the homework is good or bad depends on the purpose of it. If there is no clear reason for giving homework, the students won't get anything from doing it, so it should not be set. However, I still believe that homework can really help with children's learning, if teachers clearly tell them why they should do the homework and let them know how they have done in their homework.

Looking back at these past 3 years, I still remember many things in junior high school. We have joined all kinds of school clubs, such as acting club, music club and sport club. We have done lots of exciting things in the clubs. As a member of the acting club, (1)I have learned a lot from these activities. But the one touching me most was the acting competition which I took part in last year.
That was a special competition between Group I and ours. It was about a Chinese traditional story and a western country story.
I got a chance to act the main character, Our play (剧本) was about a village girl called Mulan,(2)She dressed up like a boy and took her father's place to fight in the army. The play showed her love for her family, friends and country. Another boy from Group I played the emperor in The Emperor s New Clothes. (3)许多学生一次又一次大笑, Especially in the last scene, the emperor walked through the city without any clothes. Everyone said his new clothes were beautiful. But the young boy told the truth.
All the students watched the excellent performance given by the two groups. They were so excited that
they didn't leave until they took photos with all the performers. I did a good job at the play show. (4)每个人都喜欢我的表演,并且我们组获胜.
(5)It′s difficult not to cry when we miss the wonderful days of our school life, I will set out on my new Journey, but I won't forget my old days.
(1)I have learned a lot from these activities.

A Spring Morning
This spring morning in bed I'm lying.
Not to awake till the birds are crying.
(1)After one night of wind and showers .
How many are the fallen flowers?
(2)这是中国有关春天最著名的诗词之一.It's simple and catchy(朗朗上口的). (3)The poem writer doesn't directly say how much he loves spring. Instead, he writes about the details(细节) of the season, the birds, wind, rain showers and fallen flowers. His descriptions of these things show us the cheerfulness he feels during springtime.
(4)Chinese poem writers often write about the beauty of spring, such as the bright colors and fragrances(芬芳) of flowers. But the writer chose to write about the sounds of spring. (5)他清晨听到鸟儿们鸣唱. and remembered the sound of the wind and rain in the night. Writing about these sounds allows readers to picture spring using their own imagination.

(1)What would people like to eat on their birthday? The answer would be different in different countries.
In many countries, it's very common for people to have birthday cakes with candles.(2)The number of candles is the person's age. The birthday person must make a wish and blow out the candles.(3)If he or she blows out all the candles in one go,the wish will come true. In the UK, sometimes people put a candy in a birthday cake. The child with the candy feels happy and lucky.
In China,(4)现在也非常流行在生日晚会上吃蛋糕.But many people still eat very long noodles for their birthday because they are a symbol of long life. Mrs. Luo is a teacher from Shaoyang. She asked her students to hand in their homework through a QR code(二维码). "(1)When students finish the homework, they keep it on Wechat. So I can check their homework everywhere using my computer or mobile phone." said Luo.
(2)大多数学生喜欢这种新方式,认为它有趣. "We are living in the information age. Many students like to work with computers, which makes learning more fun." said Tingting, a student of Luo's.
"The paper is not easy to keep, but the code is easy to keep and share," Luo said, "It is worth trying to use new technology in education. Education itself is a kind of creation.(3)I don't want my students to fall behind the times."
(4)然而,一些父母有担忧. They are afraid that their children will spend too much time on computers and less time communicating with teachers. But in fact, it is unnecessary. Students still need to look up information in books and write it down when they do their homework. They only use the code when they hand in their work, which doesn't take them too much time. (5)As for teachers,it allows them to check the students' work at any time. And it is also an easy way to share homework with other students.

You may not realize it, but you are doing much more than just studying when you are at school. School is also the place where you learn to get on well with people. (1)But this is not always easy. What can you do if you just don't like one of your classmates?
(2)If you discover that you have problems getting on with your classmates or friends, the most important thing to learn is tolerance. Tolerance is the ability to realize and respect the differences in others. We cannot change the way that other people do, so it is important to leam to live happily with them.
Tolerance will make everyone get on better with each other. Getting to know someone may help you understand why he does things differently. Something different does not exactly mean that it is bad. Tolerance teaches us to keep a temperate and open mind.
You need to remember an old saying, (3)"Treat others how you want to be treated." If you tolerate something, it does not mean that you have to like it. (4)现在,没有人要求你改变自己. Tolerance just means that you should respect the differences in others and not try to make them change.
It is important to practice tolerance, because it will make everyone's life easier. (5)学会接受能力兴趣与自己不同的人.The world is very different, and practicing tolerance in your own school and city can help make a difference.
