This story happened when I was 11 years old. I’ll never forget it.
I was at my friend Jenny’s after school one day. We were doing homework when a friend of Jenny’s mum’s came over to . I don’t remember her name or even what she looked like. I remember her hands, her voice and the lesson she taught me.
I remember her hand reaching out for mine. What hands she had, I thought; rich, dark skin going well with the orange nail polish (指甲油). Then I heard her saying, “Oh no, that is NOT you shake hands. Let me show you.”
After that, I just remember her voice explaining the importance of a good , having a sense of self, looking the other person in the eye… At that moment I felt respected.
I think of her every time I meet someone . I’m so thankful for her little lesson.
I thank her for the time to teach me something I didn’t know. I thank her for the that she didn’t talk down to me because I was 11 or because I didn’t something. I thank her for instilling (灌输) the idea that if someone doesn’t know something, don’t be afraid to share your knowledge.

When I was in primary school, I had a big argument a boy in my class. l can't remember what it was about, but I have never forgotten the lesson I learned that day. I was that I was right and he was wrong. However, he believed that I was wrong and he was right. The teacher decided to teach us a lesson. She came up with a good idea. She brought of us to the front of the class ,then she placed the boy on one side of her grey desk and me on .In the middle of the desk was a large, round object (物体). It was clear for me that it was black. She asked the boy what color the object was. "White," he answered in a loud voice. I couldn't believe that the object was white. One more argument started between the boy me, this time about the color of the object. The teacher told me to go where the boy was standing and told him to come where I had been. We changed and then she asked me what the color of the object was. I had to answer, "White. " It was then that I what was wrong. It was an object with two differently colored sides, and from his side it was white only, from my side it was black. My teacher taught me a very important 1esson that day: You must stand in other persons' position (位置) and look at the situation through their eyes truly understand their ideas.

Last night I was driving from Harrisburg to Lewisburg, a distance of about 80 miles. It was late, and I was driving .
At one point along an open highway, I came to a crossroad with a traffic light. I was on the road by now, but as I came near the light, it turned , and I braked to a stop. I looked left, right, and behind me. Nothing. No car, no suggestion of headlights, there I sat, waiting for the light to , the only human being, for at least a mile in any .
I started wondering why I to run the light. I was not afraid of being caught, because there was no policeman anywhere around and there certainly would have been no in going through it.

I was so of myself for stopping for that red light. And as no one would ever have known what a good person I was on the road from Harrisburg to Lewisburg, I had to tell someone.

Dear Jenny.
How is it going? Are you busy with your study these days?
I've been back at school nearly four weeks. I am very glad to tell you that great have taken place in our school this term. First of all, we are aked to "clean our plates" when having our meals and say to waste. Some of us used to order more than what we could eat. That was a big waste of food and money. Now we need to the food we order.
We should also stop wasting in some other ways. For example, we should turn off the lights when we the classroom. And our school has opened up some for us to learn how to grow vegetables. Each class is given a small garden and our class has to grow some tomatoes and beans in our spare time. I think it'll be very interesting. Maybe I'II be able to you some beans we've grown next time.
What's more, we have only two classes in the afternoon we have more time for after-school activities. I am one of the traffic safety volunteers in our school. After school, we take turns asking people in the streets near our school to the traffic rules.
I think our school life is now improving! Please write back soon and tell me more about your school.
Yours truly,
Wang Wei

When the young homeless man moved this elegant lady, she turned and looked straight into his eyes and asked, “How much do you need?” I couldn’t hear what the young man said but watched the old man pulled several bills(纸币) from her wallet and them in the young man’s hands.
I don’t know whether the young man actually used this money for breakfast or for some other purpose. What I do know is that I saw two completely different reactions(反应) to the same .
