Visitors can also explore caves. Some of the caves even have paintings on the walls. These paintings were made by some Indians who lived on the island hundreds of years ago.
After a full day of fun activities , visitors can take a rest, listen to the night sounds, and watch the stars in the huge sky. The stars are easier to see. Visitors say that watching the stars is amazing. It' s the perfect end to a perfect day.

Can you imagine a sea of sand three times bigger than India? This is the Sahara Desert. The largest desert in the world. It covers 1l countries in North Africa and is over 9 million square kilometers.
In the Sahara, temperatures are very different during the day and at night. It is much hotter during the day than at nigh.During the day, the hottest time is between 2 pm and 4 pm﹣when temperatures rise to 33℃. But it is very cold at night, the coldest time is at 4 am, when temperatures fall to ﹣1℃.
Because of the extreme temperatures in the desert, it is a very difficult place to survive(幸运).Marco Rivera, our survival expert, has some tips.
Take warm clothes and a blanket. You will need a hat, long trousers and a thick sweater to keep you warm at night. During the day, cover your body, head and face. Clothes protect you from the sun and keep water in your body. You will also need a warm blanket at night. It can get cold rapidly. When the temperature drops, it can be a shock and make you feel even colder.
Try to drink some water at least once every hour. You need your water to last as long as possible. Drink only what you need. If you eat, you will get thirsty and your water will run out soon. You can eat a little, but only to stop you from feeling very hungry. Eat a small amount of food slowly.
It's important to stay out of the sun during the day. Make a hole under your car and lie there. This will keep you cool and help you sleep. Find a warm place to sleep at night. A small place near a tree or a rock will be the warmest. But be careful before you decide where to sleep. Dangerous animals like snakes also like to sleep in these places. Look carefully for animals before you lie down.

Do you have a nickname(呢称)?Most of us do by our looks, clothing, or personality, But for cities, the meaning of their nicknames has much more than that.
Many big cities have nicknames, such as New York﹣The Big Apple, London﹣The Great Smog, and Rome﹣The Eternal(永恒的)City. Why do cities have such nicknames?
In the 1920s,there were many races in New York. People called the prizes of these race.apples. Writer John J.Fitz Gerald first called New York the Big Apple, because New York is the place that many people dreamed of going to for the biggest prize of all.
For Rome, as the name suggests, the answer is simple, Romans believed that no matter what happened to the world, Rome would go on forever. Rome has been an important center of power for more than 2,000years.
As for London, in the Victorian period, it had problems with its air. Later in 1952,serious air pollution made 10,000people fall ill. But now the air of London has become better.

"The building has nothing to do with what it used to be, or even with a medieval (中世纪的) castle," criticized (批评) the Spanish cultural heritage group (文化遗产组织) Hispania Nostra. People across the world have been laughing about it online too. "How terrible!" "They've got builders rather than repairers." "No words are needed when you see the pictures."

Do you know when and where ice cream was created? It has a long and interesting history.
The earliest ice cream was eaten in China many centuries ago. People at that time would put orange juice on the ice or get something cool to drink. Later, this idea traveled to Italy. Ice cream was brought to America in the early 1700s, and it quickly became the favorite of Americans. President George Washington had ice cream pots(罐)and machines in his kitchen.Dolly Madison, the wife of President Madison, was the first one to serve it in the White House. She made her guests very happy when she served such desserts(甜品).
Before ice cream was sold in stores. it was made and kept at a very low temperature first. It took a lot of work to mix cream, eggs, fruit and ice. Nancy Johnson, an American woman who was good at machines, invented the ice cream freezerin 1846. Five years later. Jacob Flusell opened the first ice cream factory in Baltimore, Maryland. What we have been aware of is that people from Italy speak Italian and people from Russia speak Russian. But have you ever wondered the reason why people speak Spanish in so many South American countries?Do you know why the brilliant footballers of Brazil speak Portuguese? And why is French the first language of some people in Canada? The answer is that all these countries belonged to European empires at one time. The next question is:How did these empires begin? To answer that question we have to probably go back to the 15th and 16 centuries, the golden age of European explorers.
Although this period is known as the golden age of European explorers,it was not the beginning of European exploration. As you probably know,Marco Polo travelled a long way to China at the end of the 13 century and some people say that the Vikings discovered America long before Columbus set sail in 1492.However,it is during this "golden"period that some famous voyages took place.Columbus' voyage to America is the best known voyage of exploration, but Ferdinand Magellan sailed round the world in this period, and Spanish explorers such as Central and Pizarro reached South America. Cortez defeated the Aztecs in what we now know as Mesico and Pizarro defeated the Incas in what we now know as Peru. The roots of the Spanish empire were established and that is why he Spanish language is so widely spoken in Central and South America today.
