Xiaofan,a smart boy from Shenzhen, used to have difficulty in getting up on time, and his alarm clock was of no use at all.It made him very upset. One day,he had a good idea.
Xiaofan went to a shop and bought a tape.Back home,he started to record what he wanted. After that,he took out a tool box and connected his tape player with the new tape to his alarm clock.A special alarm clock was born.At a certain time in the morning, the tape player would play soft music with a low and sweet voice of a young girl,"Wake up,please."Five minutes later, the tape player would play again, and it might be loud music. At the same time,he could hear a recording of his parent,"Wake up at once,or you'll be late!"
Several days later,Xiaofan got used to the sound of the recordings. After the recordings,he was still sleepy, and even fall asleep again. That was terrible! So he went to the library and borrowed plenty of books home to deal with his problem of getting up late.
He made it!With the help of what he had learned from the books,he put a mechanical(机械的)arm at the end of the bed.Now if Xiaofan still doesn't get up at last, the arm in the bed will"beat"him, and even make him out of the bed.
The special bed with a mechanical arm helps Xiaofan a lot,but it is not sold in stores.

This summer I attended my first music festival. Unlike most of the festival﹣goers. We didn't buy tickets.Instead, we volunteered as festival stewards. We each worked 3 shifts﹣each shift was 8 hours long﹣ in exchange for a free ticket to the festival.
Leeds Festival is a large music festival which takes place yearly at the end of August. And thousands of people attend it each year.
There were several diffrerent stage, each catering for a different music taste:rock pop, alternative and dance. As well as the fantasic music on offer, there were also funfair rides, food outlets and a silent disco. I loved silent discos:everyone had a set of headphones with two channels and music was played through the headphonos. As a result, people could dance and sing along to completely different songs!
While we weren't working. we were freeto enjoy the festival. We saw a wide variety of artists across the weekend. I really enjoyed seeing Imagine Dragons, Vampire Weekend and, of course, Antie Monkeys.
We camped for five nights and it was freezing every night! However, we had a really nice campsite I had a great time and would definitely be returning the next year!

Since I travel a lot for work, we have had enough flying miles to become the VIP (very important person.) of the flight to enjoy first class(头等舱) seats.
As we were sitting in the very first two seats in the first row of first class waiting for the plane to take off, I heard one of the flight attendants (航班服务员) telling the others that there was a young couple sitting in the back of the plane that had just been married several days before and were going on their honeymoon(蜜月). We said. "Sure!"
So, we moved to the back of the plane, I was in a middle seat in the back part and my husband, who is 63, in the window seat of the last row of the plane.

"Mom, "said Trevor, as he watched his mother washing the old cans (罐), "why are you washing these old cans?"
"I'm getting them ready for being put into the recycling box," said Mom.
"Well, they are rubbish to us, because we don' t need them anymore. I wash the cans out so that they won't attired insects," said Mom. "We don' t use some things, but it doesn't mean they have no value. These cans can be melted (熔化) down to make new cans or other things."
"I didn't think of that," said Trevor. "Is that why you save all the cardboard(纸板) or newspapers too?"
Mom nodded, "That is also why I save all those vegetable bits, I use them all in our garden."
"Our teacher told us about projects other classes had done for Earth Day, and she asked for suggestions for our class projects. I can't think of anything. Do you have any good ideas, Mom?" asked Trevor.
Mom wiped (擦) her hands with a towel (毛巾) and thought for a few minutes. "I saw an article in a magazine about wise ideas about recycling. It must be something you will be interested in."
