I often quarrel about my mother over whether I can watch TV after school. She holds view that senior three students have to make fully use of every minute to work hard at their lessons. It seems to me that once I am allowed to do that, I’ll unable to control myself and forget all about my study. She also thinks it is bad for my eye. But I really can’t accept her ideas. In my opinion, watch TV can set my mind at rest after a day’s hard works. Besides, it is important for us to know what had happened at home and at abroad. Thus, we shouldn’t be forbidden to watch TV.
In a summer night in Taiwan, Xiao Hong was going on her way to school happily then suddenly she felt the street was strong shaking. The trees were torn up and many buildings were leaned down to the ground. Even a car was destroyed by the fallen buildings. She was knocked down by a tree before she knew. Two doctors carried him to safety and she was settled down in a tent for treatment. After some time, she had got over. Seeing such many goods from the mainland of China and other countries, she believed all the destroyed houses would be built.
In many western countries heavy industry is high developed. The difference between heavy and light industry are based on the nature of the goods produced. Heavy industry produce machines while light industry uses machines produce the smaller objects required for various purpose in our home and offices. The growth of industry in country depends on the general level of economic or industrial development. In its beginning, industrialization is likely to be cheap. To decrease (减少)costs, industrialists in an area usually depend to local supplies of the coal or electric power for their operation.
Dear Mary,
I receive your E-mail just now. Don’t worry about me. I’m getting on well with my research work in the lab. But to my greatly surprise you say you will give up learn English. The reason is because you have not done well in it recently and you have lost interests. I’m afraid I couldn’t agree with you . I know it is difficulty to learn English, and English is widely used in the world today. It will be important tool in our future work. Beside, it is becoming more and more important in our daily life. If you study hard, you will be succeed. Do remember that where there is a will, there is a way. I still remember the morning. My father suddenly wake me up at about 5 and the sky was still gray. I jumped out bed surprised and extreme happy, for we were going to get a book! When we drove to the bookstore, many people were already waiting there. We waited for our turn at about 8:30. I was overjoyed when I got a book, not only because of the book themselves, but also of the love from my father. Never before had I felt such a love from him, because of my father, I believed then, had always been busy with his own work. That was “Harry Potter” that helped I feel the deep love from my parents!
My secret of staying young is simple: keeping your mind awake and you will stay young all over. Take an interest in world around you, and learn at least one old thing every day. Don’t think that you are ever very old to go back to school. I know a man who entered medical college in 70. He got his degree with honors and became a famous doctor. Other man went to law school at 71 and is now a active lawyer. You may say that staying young is easy only for those live in the future. In fact, you can do it whether you care enough to try to keep your mind awake and active, and which is the only way to be always young.
We'll never forget the day which my classmates and I paid a visit to a chemistry factory last week. It was a larger one with nearly 2,000 workers. It looked a garden and we could see colorful flowers, grass and trees anywhere. We also visited some workshops and saw workers worked very hard. We talked with them and learned a lot of. We understood them further. On the way home we felt tiring. We all thought that we had a very good day. We real hoped that we could get more chances of leave the school and learn social experience.
I passed all the other course that I took at my university, but I could never pass botany. This was why all botany students had to spend several hours a week in a lab look through a microscope at plant cells, and I could never see through a microscope. This was used to make my professor angry. “I can’t see everything, ” I said. Then he began patient enough to explain how to see through it, but I still couldn’t make it. At last we tried it with every adjustment of the microscope known to men. With my pleasure, I saw something and drew it quickly on the paper. “What’s that?” my professor asked. “That’s what I saw.” I answered. “No, you don’t!” he shouted, and he bent over and looking into the microscope. “That’s your eyes! You’ve fixed the lens so that it reflects! You’ve drawn your eyes!”

I will share with you a true story happened a couple of days ago. One of my classmate bought a bag of snacks from a food store. A few roommates were then invited to enjoy snacks. Unluckily, all of them got poisoned and had stomachache with our faces pale. They are quickly sent to a nearby hospital. Doctors examined them but gave them some medicine. They were out of danger soon before taking the medicine. This accident should make us to realize the seriousness of the food safety problem.
