One year ago, I was great trouble. I worked hard at English and devoted all my spare time to
(practise)it. But I failed to pass the mid-term examination,
made me greatly disappointed. So I asked my grandpa for advice when I got home.
(hear) what I told him, he said, “To some extent, examination
(result) are sometimes unexpected by your study level. You can’t judge your progress by one examination.” He encouraged me
( work) hard for a long time to check my results. I
(take) my grandpa’s advice. Now I realize
the process of learning is much more important and my English is much better
before. From my experience, I feel that we
listen to opinions from old people.
