Today I took part in the English singing competition of our school. Most of the singers and audience have been there when I arrived at the ball. See the large audience, I started to feel little nervous. After some times, it was my turn to sing. When the host read my name out, the audience burst into a great cheer, and my heart began to beat really fastly. The song I sing was Country Road, that is a very famous piece of American country music. I had practiced for it many times, and I didn’t think I had done a very good job. Anyway, I was still very excited because of participating was the most important thing to me.

I live in a small town. Most people here traveled around by the bike in the past, and I learn how to ride a bike at an early age. Recently, electric bikes have become more and more popular, so they are convenient and can save energy. There is two in my family. One is for my mom and the another is for my dad. They sometimes allow me to riding them when they send me to buy something, but I seldom ride them. It doesn’t seem strangely for children to do that. The reason where I refuse to do so is that I can’t get used the speed of electric bikes. I prefer walking to riding it.

Our hearts will be full with respect at the mention of a mother’s love. Truly, who can love you more than your dear mother does in world? But in modern society, especial among one-child families, mothers usually give too much love to her only daughter or son. They try to help or even protecting their children in every way, which left their sons or daughters too comfortable to deal with challenges themselves.
What we all know, we have entered into the 21st century, and the young generation will face more challenges in the future. There is nothing wrong for mothers to love their children, and they should also leave rooms for their children to develop themselves and become independent.

Last Sunday I saw a worst storm in years. It came sudden and went on for over three hours. After lunch, I went into my room to have a rest. The air was hot，but all was quiet. Then a strong wind started to blow into my room. Pieces of paper on my desk flew high into the air and some flew out the open window. As I ran out to catch it, big drop of rain began to fall. When I first learned to write in English, I run into many difficulties．The main problem was in that I always thought in Chinese but tried to translate everything into Chinese．My teacher advised me to keep diaries．I followed her advices．Happily it worked．Soon I began to enjoy talk to myself on paper as I was learning to express me in simple English. One day I wrote a short story and showed to my teacher．She liked it very much that she read it to the class．Everyone said the story was the good one, I was great encouraged by their words．
