Growing up, I remember my father as a silent, strict man—not the kind of person around whom one could laugh. As a teenager knowing little about life, I wanted a father who could the mysteries of the human journey. In college, when friends called home for , I would become for what I didn’t have.
Then one night after my move back home, I overheard my father on the telephone. There was some trouble. Later, he the problem with me. Obviously my knowledge of law helped him a lot. I talked through the problem with him, the motives of the people involved and offering several negotiation strategies.

My father is a scientist who has a good knowledge of the building blocks of nature. , human nature is a mystery to him. That night I realized he was simply not skilled at people. It’s not in his to understand human desires.
It was no one’s that my father showed no interest in human emotions while I placed great importance on them. We are sometimes born more sensitive, and dreamy than our and become more curious, and idealistic than them. I, who knew my father as an intelligent man, had never understood his intelligence didn’t cover all of my feelings.
I believe that coming home has me years of questions and confusion. I nowadays consider my parents as people who have other relationships than just being my parents, relationships that and define them.
Best of all, I nowadays regard my parents as : people who ask me for advice; people who need my and understanding. And I’ve come to see my past in a view. Knowing them makes me feel safe in where I come from and where I’m going.

The Pecan Thief
When I was six years old, I was visiting my grandfather's farm in Kansas. Grandpa had sent me into the 36 to gather pecans for us to enjoy later.
Pecan picking was really 37 work and my little basket was only half full. I wasn't about to 38 Grandpa down. Just then something caught my 39 . A large brown squirrel was a few feet away. I watched as he picked up a pecan, hurried to a tree and 40 in a large hole in the trunk. A moment later the squirrel 41 out and climbed down to the ground to pick up another nut. One day while sitting in the boat fishing, I noticed a field mouse on the river bank. He ran out of his 21 , ran around a bit and then ran back. I thought of the 22 of this mouse. Every summer, hundreds of thousands of students travel to other countries looking for work and adventure. Most of the opportunities are in 1 work.
