The weather is closely related(联系) to our life. It is all around us all the time. It is an important part of our lives. We cannot control it, but it often controls how and      we live, what we do, what we wear and what we eat. Read this passage and learn       about the weather.
What is the weather?
The weather is just the state of the atmosphere      any time, such as temperature, wind,        , sun, etc.
What makes the weather change?
As we know, not every place on the earth gets the same amount of sunlight. Some places get       sunlight. So it’s warmer in those places. Some places get little      no sunlight in winter. Then those places have colder temperatures. These differences in temperature make the air and water        around the earth. The movement helps to take the heat energy from the sun across the earth.  So the      changes.
What’s the difference between weather and climate?
Climate is a place’s weather over a long time. The weather changes from day to day and      from hour to hour. It can be sunny in the morning, cold and wet in the afternoon. But the climate changes very      over lots of years.

A documentary about smog(雾霾) has become well-known across the country with over 100 million views in less than 24 hours. Under the Dome, the         documentary by Chai Jing, was shown on video-sharing websites in China on Feb 28. It has           pushed the public awareness (意识) about air pollution and           people to join in efforts to make a difference.

While they stop there, Chai goes deeper. “I don’t want to live in this way. I need to find out where the smog comes from and what is going on.”
Over a year, she went to polluted areas to find the cause of smog, visited the US and the UK to learn about their           , and interviewed officials, scientists and the general public.

Each kind of life eats another kind of life         live, and together they form a food chain(食物链). Some food chains are simple, while others are not. But         food chains begin with the sun, and all food chains become         if one of the links disappears.
All life needs sunlight to live on. But only plants can use        directly(直接地). They make food from sunlight, water, air and so on. Animals can only use the sun’s energy         it has been changed into food by plants. Some animals feed directly on plants. Others eat smaller animals. Meat-eating animals are only     plants indirectly.
What about human beings? We are members of many food chains. We eat wheat, rice, vegetables, fruit and so on. We also eat meat and drink milk. But       often break up the food chains.
