When our six children were young, suppertime is always being interrupted by neighborhood children ring the bell． They wanted one child or another to come out and played． Finally we had  good idea．We hung a sign on the front door that read:“We are having dinner． Come later．”That night, we sat down to what it would be a pleasant, uninterrupted meal． And as soon as they began dinner, the doorbell rang． At the front door stood an eight-years-old boy． He looked up to us , saying,“I just want to know how the sign says”．

Dear Tracy,
I am a high school student. I love English but want to learn it well. But for a long time I have been puzzling about my comprehension and I was nervous about my reading speed. I know the way  to improving my reading is that to read a lot , and many people say that when you are reading,  you  shouldn’t  move your lips or try to read with my heart. When I first learned to write in English，I run into many difficulties. The main problem was in that I always thought in Chinese but tried to translate everything into Chinese. My teacher advised me to keep diaries. I followed her advices. Happily it worked. Soon I began to enjoy talk to myself on paper as I was learning to express me in simple English. One day I wrote a short story and showed it my teacher. She liked it very much that she read it to the class. Everyone said the story was the good one. I was great encouraged by their words.

Last Saturday the students of our class made a bike trip of Wanping, a small town by the Taihu Lake. We set off earlier in the morning. I have been planning to join in our college basketball team next year. Now I’m spending as more
time as I can with other people who likes to play. They are teaching themselves the most important

A survey basing on 1,000 students found that 80% of senior students slept less than
nine hours every night. Too much homework being given by school teachers is the main
cause. Another cause lies at students’ bad habits. Some students are absent-minded while
doing their homework, and some wasting their after-class time. The third cause is some  
students have to get up earlier on weekdays to get to school which far away from home.  
Experts think the amount of homeworks for the students should be cut down. Beside,  
teachers should encourage their students make good use of their spare time.

After supper Liu Wei came and ask me to go and see a film with him. In our way to the cinema, we saw the little girl sitting by the roadside crying. We bought her a cake to stop her cry. When we asked she lived, she said she did not know. So we took him to the police station and asked the polices to take care of her. After that we went to the cinema. And when we got there, the movie was almost over. Although we missed the movie, but we felt very happy because we did a well deed.
