As we all know, this is the school leavers’ party, and it’s time to say goodbye to everyone. We’re sorry to leave you at the end of our junior high school education, and we promise that we'll never forget the happy times we have spent in these buildings with you all.
I’d like to thank three groups of people for the three things I’ve learnt while I’ve been a pupil at our school. The three things are friendship, love and knowledge.
The first group is my friends, and what I’ve learnt is the importance of friendship. We’ve worked hard together, we’ve even shared some difficult times together, but we’ve also had a lot of fun. On January 26th, the biggest earthquake (地震) in India took the lives of 25, 000 people. In the morning, when everybody was enjoying holiday, earthquake began. It was about 7. 5 on the Ritcher scale. “There is nothing left between the sky and the earth any more. They were in the field, so most children didn’t feel anything. The earthquake was felt by the teachers that were on the second floor. However, though Mrs. Young was also on the second floor, she didn't feel anything. She didn’t know what happened until a teacher told her about it. Those teachers who were on the other floors had different feelings. Mr. Emond, the maths teacher from Australia, said that when the earthquake started he thought there was something wrong with him, but then another teacher said that it was an earthquake. After those words Mr. Emond felt better. Mrs. Davis and Mr. Frost didn’t feel anything, either.

It's not easy to be an astronaut's son. Everybody expects you to be special or perfect. I often wonder how my father ever had a son like me. I mean he's so special and so good at everything he does. Even in middle school he was class monitor and captain of the football team.
Well, to be honest, I often dream about being some kind of hero or doing something special-like saving a child from a burning building or discovering a new star. I was daydreaming at school one morning when my teacher said there would be a Father's Day writing competition for the whole school. "I hope we have a winner right here in my class."

Now some women are spending a weekend at Mother's Camp. There, husbands and children are not allowed. Why would a woman want to take a vacation without her family?
Some women say they need time to be alone.
At Mother's Camp a woman has room to herself. She can sleep, read or watch TV, and no one will bother her. No children will ask, "Mom, what's for dinner?" Many of them work full-time and then come home to a second job - taking care of their homes and families. These working women say one of their biggest problems is housework.

Some women go to Mother's Camp just to get a break from housework. For two days they don't cook, they don't clean, and they don't look after their children and husbands. What do they do?
