Dear Sir,
I am writing to apply for a job as the volunteer for the International Trade Exposition. Outgoing and easygoing, I believe I was the right person you are looking after. First, I am willing to offer help with foreign friends from all over the world. Second, with a good knowledge of English I believe that I will have no difficulties in communicating with foreign friends in the English. How often does your child pick up a book, a magazine, and other printed materials simply for the pleasure of read? Experts say a young person’s interest in independent reading seem to be important to long-term success.
However, not all children will natural love reading. So what should parents do? First, understanding independent reading is not guided or sharing reading. You may be present in the room with your child, but will not be engaged to reading the book for your child. Instead, the child should pick up a book on his or her own, if he or she can read all the words or not. Then, set a good example for your child by becoming an independent reader yourself. If possibly, build your child’s personal library.

I am writing to ask that you are able to do me a favor. I want to have a pen friend, hopefully, a girl in her early twenties, and with interests similarly to mine. In my mind, he is someone interesting in traveling, swimming, and playing table tennis. However, it would be better for her to have a pet dog as I have been kept one at home for some time. With such a pen friend, I hope I can share with her our experiences in traveling, taking care pets, or whatever we have in common. My parents decided try a new Western restaurant last weekend, so I went with them. The evening started well and the menu looks good. I had soup with my starter but the waiter didn't bring a spoon so it was getting a bit cold after I could eat it. Then, for our main course, I had a piece of beef. Besides, I couldn't cut the beef because of my knife wasn't very good. For my dessert I had a apple pie but I didn't have a fork or a spoon so I ate them with my fingers! What a terribly experience!

Yang Li, a five-year-old girl living next door to me, very clever. Because she is not old enough to go to the school, she often asks me to teach herself to read, write and draw. She studies hardly and soon she learns a lot. One evening last month I was doing my English homeworks when she came to my house. She asked me how I learned English. “You would find English a bridge for so many knowledge,” I said. She then wanted to learn English, either. She has learned many English words so far but her parents are very grateful to me.

What I am actually eager to do is being a responsible person. I used to thinking it was so hard to grow up into a responsible member of our society. Besides, it was an accident happening in a snowy morning that changed my attitude . I was on the way to school and was waiting for the green light with my classmate John while a girl was knocked down by passing car. Without hesitation we ran to her and gave her first aid the instant when we saw it . Soon many help was given to him by the people nearby. Because we sent her to the nearest hospital in time, she was able to receive proper treatment . By the time she left the hospital, she has written a letter expressing her gratitude to those giving help. We both felt so proud that from then on we made up our mind to be always kind and responsible men.
