In China, very few children make pocket money. , in western countries, most kids make pocket money by themselves. They make money in many different .
When kids are very young, their parents help them sell the fruits of their own trees to neighbours. Kids may also help do housework to make money at home. When they sixteen, they can make money by sending newspapers or by working in fast food restaurants, during the summer holidays.
There are many of making pocket money by kids themselves. First of all, they learn the of money by working hard so that they will not waste any. Secondly, they learn to money to buy things they need or want, such as books, pencils, movies, and even clothes they like. Thirdly, they learn to the daily life problems by helping their parents or others. Making pocket money is for children when they grow up. That is why parents encourage their kids to make pocket money.

I was on a bus one March evening. The driver didn't ___ to start the bus soon because it was not yet __ . A middle-aged woman got on. Lucky, our beautiful dog, isn’t with us any more．But she brought such joy and love into our lives we still miss her．There are so many wonderful stories about the love in this dog, but my favorite is this one:
It was an autumn day in Minnesota．Unexpectedly, a big snowstorm which no one was prepared for our city．
We have two apple trees in our backyard．Lucky loved apples．When she went outside, she’d hold an apple in her and take it into the house to save for eating later．The apples had been on the ground and were often dirty so I wasn’t always that Lucky had brought them into the house．
On the day that it snowed too early in the season, Lucky went outside and I her from the window．I noticed that she was digging to bring the apples to the surface so they could be seen the snow．I wondered why she was doing this．She seemed to be completely busy with some kind of important task to find as many as possible during her yard time．
, she had one apple in her mouth when I called her back into the house．About five minutes later I looked outside．The yard was completely covered with birds．Lucky had all those apples for her bird and squirrel friends to eat．She knew that they wouldn’t have stored enough food to survive such an early winter!

Lisa has always been overweight. She wanted to lose weight, not just because she wanted to more beautiful and be healthier, but also because it would make life easier. For example, it was for Lisa to find ready-made clothes that would fit. She had to ask a tailor(裁缝) clothes that were large enough. In school, she needed a special chair that was and stronger than the other chairs. If she went for a walk, she got tired very quickly. She was also unhappy about the way people treated sometimes. “People look at me and even make fun of me. That’s unfair! But now things quite different. Last month her classmates were preparing for the School Week. Someone advised Lisa to play the lead role of the proud Queen(女王) who was tall and fat. Lisa and practiced a lot.
Soon after the play, Lisa became the star! She did well that everybody remembered the proud Queen. They stood around her and said “Congratulations” to her. She even the School Best Actress Award for her wonderful performance.
Now Lisa doesn’t worry being fat any more. She believes in the English saying “Every dog has its day.”

I am a mother of two children. In my ______there is always a special place for those people who are old. Sometimes I feel sad for the old people, and sometimes I am also afraid of getting old.
Elderly people a lot of care. They should be helped with some housework. We can help them , wash clothes and so on. I like making friends elderly people. I have lunch with them and their stories. I help them do some shopping and cut their hair. I have noticed that when a person gets , most people start to ignore (忽视) him or her. We all know old people will have a bad memory (记忆力) and lose their hearing. However, it makes me disappointed（失望的） to doctors and even their families treat them children. We need to take a minute out of our life to do something special for the old. It really makes them that someone spends time talking with them and caring for them.

I was walking down the road one day when my phone rang. voice on the other end spoke to me, “Dad, please come back soon. I miss you so much!” I thought that it was a wrong number. A short while later, the call came once again, so I rudely, “You’ve called the wrong number!” and then hung up.
During the days, I often got the call. But I didn’t care much about it. Then one day she kept calling me, I didn’t answer. Finally I answered the phone and heard a weak voice, “Dad, please come back. I miss you so much! Dad, I’m in so much ! Mom said you were too busy to take care of me. But, dad, please me again, OK?” It was to refuse the innocent(天真的, 无邪的) ask. I made a kiss on the phone and heard the weak voice say, “Thank you…Dad, I am so…happy, so…happy….”
Shortly after this, I became curious(好奇）about had been on the other end of my phone. So I called back, and a woman answered, “Sorry, sir. I am really sorry to you. My daughter has had bone cancer(癌症) since she was born. And her father…died in a car two weeks ago. I didn’t want to tell her the news. Poor baby. When she couldn’t the painful chemotherapy(化疗), she would cry for her dad because her dad encouraged(鼓励) her. I really don’t know what to do, so I gave her a random(随意的) phone number…”
“How is your daughter now?” I couldn’t wait to ask.
“She has died. You must have her on the phone, because she died with a smile, tightly (紧紧地) holding the cell phone….” Tears full of my eyes….
