Sunshine School Picnic Notice
Dear Parents
The school is planning a picnic for Grade 9 students. They will have an exciting experience on a nearby farm at the foot of South Mountain. Six experienced teachers will be there to take care of the children. Parents need to pay 50 yuan for the picnic. Let us know if you want your children to go for the picnic by 21st June 2015.

Americans with small families own a small car or a large one. If both parents are working, they usually have two cars. When the family is large, one of the cars is sold and they will buy a van(住房汽车)
A small car can hold four persons and a large car can hold six persons， but it is very crowded A van hold seven persons easily, so a family with three children could ask their grandparents to go on a holiday travel. They could all travel together.
Mr. Hagen and his wife had a third child last year. This made them sell a second car and bus a van. Their sixth and seventh seats are used to put other things, for a family of five must carry many suitcases(衣箱)when they travel. When they arrive at their grandparents’ home, the suitcases are brought out. The two seats can then carry the grandparents.
Americans call vans motor homes. A motor home is always used for holidays. When a family are traveling to the mountains or to the seaside, they can live in their motor home for a few days or weeks. All the members of a big family can enjoy a happier life when they are traveling together. That is why motor homes have become very popular. In America there are many parks for motor homes.

“Depend on yourself” is what nature says to every man. Parents can help you. Teachers can help you. Others still can help you. But all these only help you to help yourself.
There have been many great men in history. But many of them were very poor in childhood, and had no uncles, aunts or friends to help them. They couldn’t depend on them for education. They saw it was, and began to work with their efforts. To know something, they worked their own way up to fame (荣誉).
One of the most famous teachers in England used to tell his pupil, “I can’t make worthy men of you, but I can help you make men of yourselves.” Some young men are the best in anything, and they are so be pitied (值得同情的). They can never do things successfully if they don’t see their weak points and change their courses (做法). They are nothing now, and will be nothing as long as they live if they don’t follow the advice of their parents and teachers, and depend on their own efforts.

When you travel in Hong Kong，you must be careful of the traffic rules，because the traffic keeps to the left and it’s different from that of the interior（内地）of China．Before crossing the street，you must look to the right and then to the left. If the traffic lights are red，the traffic must stop, people can cross the zebra line．If the traffic lights turn green，the traffic can go，people must not cross the road．
In the morning and in the evening，when people go to or come from work，the streets are very busy．The traffic is the most dangerous．
When you go somewhere by bus in Hong Kong，you have to be careful，too. Do remember the traffic keeps to the left．Have a look first，or you may go the wrong way．
In Hong Kong, there are a lot of big buses with two floors. You’d better sit on the second floor．From there you can enjoy the city. How wonderful it is!
