In 2011,Matthew Kaplan created the Be O.N.E. Project, an anti-bullying(反对恃强凌弱)program for middle school students. Radio Disney is going to present him with a Hero for Change Award.
REPORTER: Why did you create the Be O.N.E. Project ?
MATTHEW: Because of my brother. He used to a really confident kid, but now ____.
REPORTER: What tips do you give kids for dealing with bullies?
MATTHEW: The biggest thing is that____. You are not as alone as you think.
REPORTER: Are there any stories you want to share with us?
MATTHEW:A few weeks ago .I was at a school in Virginia. There was a kid who said something very simple , like “I don’t usually feel like I have friends but this program really helped.” After his words, about six people stood up and said sorry to that boy. I think .
REPORTER: How did it feel to get this Hero for Change Award?
MATTHEW:I was so surprised, because .To be a role model is great.
REPORTER: What advice would you give kids about being a hero for change?
MATTHEW: You should find the problems and take action to solve them. The action doesn’t have to be big, and . You don’t have to create an organization or go out and change the world. You can change your little corner of the world.
