China's economy (enjoy) rapid growth in the past three decades .
the country wishes to gain status (地位) as a first-world (世界一流的) economy, it must fight
corruption (腐败). Yet, combating corruption would be difficult for
obvious reason. There's no such thing
a crime-free society and corruption remains an inevitable(不可避免的) fact of life. Consequently, those
participate in (参与) corruption try their best to grab ill-gotten gains(霸占非法所得) in the hopes of avoiding punishment. Obviously, China's government has become more aware
this aspect to human nature. So, Beijing should place a greater emphasis on enforcing stiffer penalties(实施严厉惩罚) against wrongdoers and
(warn) the public that its investigative team is working around the clock to uncover corruption .
(hopeful), China will succeed in combating corruption since this would strengthen the nation's image abroad, improve economic conditions nationwide and help China to continue moving ahead along the path
prosperity(繁荣).
