I drove him to a close supermarket. Mark took a hand basket and went in. I waited and watched in the car. It took Mark over 45 minutes to choose his presents. In the end, he came to the checkout counter (交款处) but he found his money wasn’t there! There was a hole(洞) in his pocket, Mark stood there and began to cry(哭)。
Then a surprising thing happened. A woman came up to Mark and took him in her arms. "I can pay for you," she said. " When you grow up, I would like you to help others, too. "
Mark took the money, ran back to the checkout counter. That year we all enjoyed our presents very much.
