At present, quite a few teens spend much time with their iPods listening to music, but a new study suggests that teens who spend too much time listening to music may be at risk of depression (抑郁症).
The study, led by Brian, an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, that teens who listened to music more often had 80% higher risk of depression,
with teens who listened to music less often.
According to the study, teens who most often listened to music could listen for at least four five hours a day.
“At this point, it’s not clear depressed people begin to listen to more music to escape, or whether listening to large amounts of music can lead to depression, or
,” said Brian in a statement. However, researchers found that reading books had the
result: with increase in time spent reading, teens’ risk of depression dropped 50%.
