If you understood another culture， it can help you with your language learning. This is because your background knowledge will make easier for you to understand the content of a reading passage. For example, if you have some knowledges about History and geography of Australia, it will make it easier for you to understand passages relating to Australia. In the same way, if you have watched the film The Mutiny on the Bounty you will know the background about the journey of Captain Bligh across the Pacific Ocean. So you will be more better able to appreciate what great Captain Bligh’s achievement was in second unit. During the summer holidays this year, I thought I should do anything meaningful instead of staying at home, so I have got a job at a KFC fast food restaurant, worked there as a cleaner．I worked seven hours a day for three weeks．
The job was hard and bored and seemed endless, which made me so tired that I nearly gave it in half way, but I stuck to it with determinations．Every day I started off for work early in the morning and got home lately in the evening．Finally I finished the job before the new term begins．

It is over 3 year now since I began study English. At first I found it very difficult. I couldn’t get most of the sounds right, spell the words correctly and remember the rules of the grammar. Under the help of my English teacher and classmates, I have made many progress. Now I am getting well with my English study. Three years’ study have taught me that one can’t learn English well without working hard. We should do more listening and speaking both in and out of the class. At the same time, we must pay enough attention to read as well as writing. Only on this way can we get the best result in the shortest time.
