Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
Some of us are having problems about our parents, as they often look into our school bags or read our diaries. I fully understand why we are comfortable about it, but it is no need to feel too sad. Our parents are checking in our bags or diaries to make sure we’re not getting into troubles. They have probable heard of some horrible stories about another kids and think we might do the same. Or perhaps they just want to connect with us and are doing it all wrong. My suggestion is: tell them we wanted them to trust us as much as we’d like to trust them. If you don’t think you can talk to them, write them a letter and leave it lie around—they are bound to read it.

The other day after work, I was walking down the street while I saw a boy riding a nice unicycle, one of those bicycle with only one wheel. Dressing in all pink from head to toe, he was singing a song which was sounded like a kid’s song. I thought he must be total crazy. Just then, a lady dropped 20-dollar bill on the ground, but he didn’t realize it and started to walk away. The guy in pink picked out the money and gave it back to her. After that, he rode on but soon disappeared before the lady could thank him. How a strange and good guy!

Today, many people think competition is the key for success. They struggle for our own personal goals with no regard for the people around them. I believe such thinking is out of date and contemporary society, including society as a whole as well as individuals, demands that we cooperated with others. The world economy is expected to remain favor. However, the negative effects of high oil prices, competition for resources and global population is on the rise. To overcome these problem, countries must pay attention to their relationships and act it together. The fight against problems so as AIDS and terrorism requires cooperated. Our own personal success is not different. In order to succeed, we must cooperate to solve problems.

After school, I was about to enter into my apartment when I saw a little dirty dog lie beside the dustbin. He looked extremely weak. Immediately the homeless dog filled me of sympathy. So I decided to take him home. I gave him some food and a bath. After the bath he looked energy and refreshed. What a lovely dog!
When my parents got home, I asked that I could keep the dog. To my surprised and joy, they agreed. Up to now, he has become member of our family and everyone had enjoyed his company.
Looked at the cute, happy dog today, I realize that I was right to help him. I offered him a shelter but he has brought ourselves great happiness and laughter.

Even today, a man with good manner will politely open the door for a lady, help her put on her coat when it necessary and see her safely to the door of her home after a date. When a man take a woman out for dinner, it is considered impolite to help her with her chair when she gets up or sits down. On a crowding train or bus, it is proper for a man offer a woman his seat, especial if she is old or carries a baby. Even when it comes to shake hands, ladies come first. It is impolite for a man to extend his hand for a handshake upon first greeting. Unless a woman does not extend her hand to the man first, the man shouldn’t offer theirs.

Recently, as the development of the Internet, there is a kind of language calling the Web Language. The other day our class had a discussion about if we should welcome the Web Language. Forty percent of the students think it ridiculous. In their opinions, it does no good to helping people communicating, nor is it useful for learning English. Besides, it’ll make Chinese more standard and pure, finally ruining our mother tongue. However, 69% of our class is fond of it. They think it is simple, convenient and helpful in expressing them. Personally, it’s not good habit to use the Web Language. It may be popular, but you may also make yourself be misunderstood.
