I’m the captain of our school team so with my fellow players we’ve won several games. There will an important game next month. But one of the best player in our team told me just then that he wouldn’t play basketball once more. His parents asked him to spend in more time preparing for the college entrance examination. I feel sorry to him.
But his parents think go to college is more important than playing sports and college was the only place for a smart boy like his son. So my friend had no choice. He wanted to make their parents happy.

I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard my name calling. I was chosen to play a role of the heroine (女主角）in the play, what was my dream. As a shy and thin girl, I was used to be quite afraid of speaking in public. But my parents and teachers always encourage me to do so. Now I have changed great. In class, I am often the last one to stand up and answer question even if I may make some mistakes. No pains, no gains. I’m sorry to occupy your precious time, and I really want to tell you anything about the problem of some people keeping too many pets nowadays. I take the problem more and more seriously for the following reason. First of all, as it is known to people, pets make loud noise that trouble residents a lot. What’s more, it is widely accepted that animal waste pollutes the environment, where makes people quite uncomfortable. Many owners like taking their pets to public place where they may frighten children or even bite people. The mostly important is that pets can spread some diseases and this has attracted much attention. Recently, as the development of the Internet, there is a kind of language calling Web language. Some people even speak Chinese mixed with English letters. The other day our class had a discussion about if we should welcome the Web language.
Forty percent of the students think it ridiculous. They argue that it does no good help people communicate, nor is it useful for learning English. Besides, it’ll make Chinese more standard and pure, finally ruining our mother tongue. However, 60% of our class is fond of it. They think it is simple, convenience and helpful in expressing them. What’s more, it may make the language more interesting.

Great changes have been taken place in my village. Ten years ago, the small and low houses, which lie on the north of a lake, produced much waste. As the result, the lake was serious polluted. To the west was a sandy field, that was the source of dust. Better still, a brickyard on the southwest side of the lake used up a great deal good soil. Now the poor house have been replaced by green trees and the brickyard by tall buildings. The sandy field that the villagers used to ploughing has been covered with fruit trees. On the lake the villagers often spend his spare time boating and fishing.
