Dear Hou Ting,
I am sorry that maths disappoint you, but you can’t give it up.
As you say, it is one of the most important subject and there
is a reason for this. We have to use maths from all the time.
Wherever your career takes you, maths will have to be using.
In fact , most employers and universities will accept people
who have failed or given up maths. All you can do is try your
best in maths and make the most use of time you had. If you
have trouble understand anything, the first person you should
tell is your teacher. That is often surprising how simple things
seem when you are explained properly — even maths problems!

I was not good in math in the first year of junior high schoo1．Having been failed so many times in math exams，I was anxious about the subject．Every time I tried hardly to work out a math problem，I was afraid of making mistakes，that really made me feel helpless．Luckily，I met a nice math teacher in second year. She told me that I didn’t need to worry about making mistakes because I could find out my shortcomings through my mistake．She always encouraged myself to try again whenever I make a mistake．Thanks to my teacher’s encouragement，I became interesting in math and made rapid progress．My experience proves that failure was the mother of success and that we can learn a lot from our mistakes．

My grandparents live in the countryside．They keep a dog calling Ah Bao．One day my grandparents go to work in the fields，taking along my little brother and Ah Bao．My brother and Ah Bao came to a river nearby and enjoyed himself. My uncle was the biology professor. When I was young he was used to take me to the biology lab, when I saw pigs, cats and other animals. My uncle also influenced me through nature walks. He often takes me for a walk in the backyard. We would catch frogs and snake, and find fireflies in the sky. He seemed know everything about wildlife. Eighteen years later, think about my uncle and her influence on my life, I feel very lucky. I am grateful that I got the chance to learn for him. He helped me develop my interest in all that was alive and sometimes death around me.
