Dear Mary,
How are you? Today I’ve got a wonderful news to tell you. I have offered a scholarship at a university in Australia for my further education. One hundreds and twenty students took exams but only a few was chosen and I was one of them. However, my parents are not happy about it. They are strong against me going there. They say it is too far away that they will not see me for a whole year and they are afraid I will feel lonely. They couldn’t imagine a girl so young living alone. They advise me to study in the capital instead. Then I’ll be able to continue living with us. Why can I persuade them to accept the fact I have grown up?

In my opinion, the world will become more beautiful if all of us love each other and help those in the trouble.

I’m good at all the subjects, and always ready help others. At school I get along well with my classmates. Therefore, I have a problem that troubles myself all the time. It’s the relationship among my desk-mate and me. He is a hard-working student, who keeps school rule well. But he’s a quiet and shy person. What’s more, he got angry easily. I don’t know what to deal with him. Maybe it’s why we’ve seldom sat down to exchange our feelings or thoughts. I value our friendship. I hope we can know more about with each other and understand each other better. I do hope we will be close to each other than before.

Mrs Brown was walking near a playground. She was a hurry to visit her four grandchildren. She missed him very much, because she had seen them for quite a long time. She was walking while suddenly she saw a ball coming in her direction. She was already in her seventy. Should she kick the hall to send it back and should she just go past leave the ball where it was? Finally with greatly care she gave it a kick. The ball went straight into the goal. How wonderful it was! And she happened to have helped won the match. And all her four grandchildren were on team of the winners.

All of us need friendship. An understanding between two friends mean both of them have similar ideas and trusting each other. Otherwise, it is impossible for him to help each other and to make their friendship to last long. As an old saying goes, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” So really friendship should able to stand all sorts of tests. And it is wise to have as many good friends that we can. The more fiends we have, the more we can learn for one another, but the more pleasure we can share together.

A Frenchman is once visiting London. He wished to take a walk to see a city. But he was afraid he might get being lost because he knew no words of English. So after he left his hotel, he stopped on the first corner and carefully copied in his notebook the names of the street where he was staying.
Then he walked on. At last, he got lost. In several hours he found a policeman .The Frenchman tried his best to explain the policeman that he didn’t know the name of his hotel, however he knew the name of the street. He then showed the policeman that he copied in his notebook. It was read: “One-way street”.
