I went to see film after supper. On my way to the cinema, I met an old English woman, she had lost her way. I gave up the chance to see the film, walking towards her and took her to her hotel. While go there, I told her great change had taken place in the past few years and she told me anything about Britain and her family. Though I missed the film, however I felt very happy, for I not only helped the old lady out from trouble but also practise my spoken English. If I hadn’t worked hard at English, I would have been able to help her.

This is the first time that I had been away from home, so I find it hard to live here. How I wish I can turn to Lucy, who once gave me much help! I had trouble with my study in Grade 9. So frustrating was I that I began to play computer games after school, when I should have paid more attention to catching up with others. Beside, I was even caught cheating in the exam, it worried my parents a lot. When asking about the reason why I fell far behind, I was too guilty to say a word. It was then Lucy came to my help, telling me not to give up. To my amazement, I made a great progress. Finally, I even became one of the top student in my class. I must say thanks to Lucy, without whose help I could never have had so good grades.

He suggests living a low carbon life, which means using less energy in our daily life so that we can help reducing carbon dioxide in the air. For example, she always picks up some waste paper on the street or uses the blank side to write something. While he is watching TV, he always turns up the screen brightness to the minimum and turns off the light. Therefore, he goes to work by bike instead of driving. Some people think what he is doing is just a show. No one can live such a simply life with so many modern invention around us. As far as I am concerned, I am strongly in favor his idea and his behavior. Although what he is doing has no huge effect on global warming, but he at least can enjoy a healthy life.

My father is now in his late forty but he looks young for his age. He is very strict with me, especial in my studies. Besides, I know he loves me deeply in his heart. Once I fail to do well in my math exam, I was afraid that it would make my father angry and disappointing. On contrary, he said I had tried my best and offered him a few words of encouragement. He told me that there is no need to feel bad about one and two failures and the most important thing is to learn anything from failure and never give up. Today is Father’s Day and I want to say thank you for my father.

A gathering of more than 700 oriental storks(东方白鹳)was recorded at Naolihe National Nature Reserve in Heilongjiang Province last month. Such a big gathering has been seen before in the reserve. The researchers had often recorded only about 150 in the past autumns. Now the population of the large white birds for black wing feathers and long legs are estimated at 3.000 in the world. It is certain a sign that the reserve’s conservation is better now and before. The reserve is considered it as one of the most important stopover site for oriental storks. The storks winter in it and the researchers will keep a eye on the birds until you fly away.
